Meet Dr. Mitra Bolouri

Quality Dentistry with a Personal Connection

I feel honored when people choose me as their dentist. It is a responsibility I don’t take lightly.

I understand patients have many dentists to choose from, especially in this area, and so I care for each patient in the way I would want to be treated: I see each patient not only as a set of teeth, but as an individual. Getting to know my patients, personally, helps me understand a person’s specific needs. This allows me to connect with each person and build a trusting relationship, while also helping them make the best decisions for their unique concerns.

One of the most rewarding aspects of general dentistry, to me, is the diversity of my days. I get to meet so many people, of all ages and from different walks of life, and be part of their lives. I enjoy our conversations and all I learn from what they share. Hearing about their lives and experiences, talking about their families and interests, everything they tell me means the world to me.

Serving my community, one person at a time, and empowering individuals to take control of their oral wellness, is a deeply rewarding career!

Education, Experience, and Constant Learning

I grew up here in Dallas and went to Merriman Park Elementary School, not far from our office. My father is a prosthodontist who primarily taught at Baylor Dental School. From watching him, I learned that dentistry is the perfect combination of art and science, as well as an opportunity to build lasting relationships, and knew it was right for me.

I attended the University of Texas at Dallas, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Sociology. My Doctorate of Dental Surgery was obtained at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in 2012.

Dental school was a rigorous, wonderful experience and provided a solid foundational understanding of dentistry. That said, oral healthcare – like all areas of medicine – is a constantly changing field. Ongoing research leads to new methodologies, materials, and technologies, all of which may improve diagnostics, patient care, and outcome.

Staying current on the newest developments is core to how I practice dentistry. My patients deserve proven, conservative care that improves treatment and results, and that requires me to constantly learn. Luckily, I enjoy expanding my knowledge and find keeping abreast of the latest changes fascinating.

I am a member of the American Dental Association and was chosen to be a member of the Women in Dentistry: Community Pathway to Leadership Pilot Program. I am also part of the Dallas County Dental Society, serving on the Board of Directors and chairing the Diversity & Inclusion committees. Additionally, I am a member of the Texas Dental Association.

In May of 2021, I was presented the Best New Dentist Award by Dallas County Dental Society, an award given to a Dallas dentist who has graduated from dental school within the past ten years. In 2023, I was honored with the President's Award.

Through these organizations I have access to numerous avenues to learn: meetings, lectures, seminars, and multiple peer-reviewed publications.

Beyond the Office

If I’m not in the office, I’m usually found with my family. My husband Nelson and I have two young sons and two cats, so yes, our home tends to be busy!

We enjoy spending time with our families. We often see my parents who live nearby and try to make frequent trips to Missisippi, where my husband grew up and his family still lives.

When I have time to myself, I enjoy watching TV and movies, cooking, and quilting.
